Parting the Ocean

The Blitz Jaeger's signature weapon is the powerful charged particle cannon (CPC). Here is an initial test into how a large body of water reacts if the weapon is fired over it. I want to illustrate how powerful the weapon is, so I have developed this shockwave effect that blasts water out of the way as the beam travels past. This is a medium-resolution FLIP sim done in Houdini.

What you see here is just the underlying particles sim. Before rendering this must be meshed to create a polygon surface.
